Fragments of the Forest

Marble

10 (h) x 38.5 (w) x 19 (d) cm

Inspired by daily walks through the trees down by the shores of Belfast Lough, touching the textured surface of old pine trees and the smooth bark of beech trees.

The fragments of marble were broken pieces that have been reworked, with the forms naturally unfolding to echo the shapes of branches and the spaces between these tall, slender sentinels.
