Sometimes you read a book that changes the way you think and experience the world. For me, one such book is The Mother Tree by ecologist and scientist Dr Suzanne Simard. She shares her findings about the symbiotic relationship between trees, other plants and mycorrhizal fungi, passing nutrients and messages to one another, through an underground network.

Communication and connection are essential to the health of the forest, with the older trees sharing resources with the younger seedlings.

I think it’s the same for us…community is key to our physical and mental wellbeing.
